Shipsey’s Marquees have been associated with the Downton Cuckoo Fair for a quarter of a century.
This year the Marquee Team put up 3 marquees: a Framed one of 80 feet x 20 feet and two Traditionals of 135 feet x 30 feet and a 90 feet x 30 feet.
Many stallholders return year after year and competition for remaining stalls is intense each year.
The Marquee Team started work this year two days ahead of the event for the three marquees and although it takes many hours to erect marquees of this size they can be dismantled in minutes. Some of the attached photographs will show the work in progress of the traditional marquee.
